APi Communications Create Winter Street Scene at Torquay Tourist Attraction
Bygones of Babbacombe are a leading Torquay tourist attraction and for their winter season they chose APi Communications to assist with their creation of "Christmas in a Victorian street" scene. Amongst the authentic looking shops a christmas tree was erected onto which a snow machine propelled a blizzard, whilst carol singers could be heard singing a selection of festive favourites. Further background sound fills were used to create an ambience Charles Dickens would surely recognise!
How we do it!
For this event there are many and varied audio effects and trails. As reliability is paramount these are encoded onto solid-state memory cards and thus no mechanical devices are required. The sounds are sourced, or recorded by APi, and the programmes written with specific timing breaks to ensure a life-like sequence is created for the audience. We then worked with our client to introduce new ideas that occured from the experience of these effects.
